Peter Fisher is a retired teacher who has lived on the NSW Central Coast for 40 years. He migrated from Canada in 1985, and he and his Sydney-born wife have two grown children. His keen interest in native gardening led to the publication of his first book Tales From the Rainforest, which was about the rainforest pockets found on the Central Coast. His latest book released in 2024, Wish You Were Here: A History of Tourism on the NSW Central Coast, was inspired by his many summers working as a youth in tourism in Banff and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
